Diamond Platnumz’s father, Mzee Abdul Juma, has broken his silence on why he is conspicuously missing from the long list of hospital visits after following the birth of Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu’s baby girl. The couple named the child Sanura Nasibu Abdul.

This choice of name has sparked significant conversation across East Africa. It includes the surname of Mzee Abdul Juma, despite a long-standing and public rift regarding Diamond’s paternity.

While many celebrities and family members have flocked to the hospital with flowers and expensive gifts, one key figure has been missing. Mzee Abdul, the man the world has long known as Diamond’s father, has yet to make the trip.

In a candid interview with Bongo Touch, Mzee Abdul explained the reasons behind his absence.

The Missing Grandfather

Several high-profile guests have already visited the new parents. Zuchu’s father was recently seen at the hospital, holding his new granddaughter and offering blessings.

However, Mzee Abdul remains at his home, continuing his daily routines. He often visits Ilala to conduct small business trades to earn a living.

When asked why he hasn't visited the hospital, Mzee Abdul remained composed. He suggested that he is waiting for the right moment to appear.

"Everything has its time, that’s why everybody has their own time of death. When the time is right, I will pay them a visit, even if I have nothing,” he said.

He added that he does not believe wealth is a requirement for a visit. "Dua is everything," he said, referring to the power of prayer. He explained that even if he cannot afford "expensive luggage" or toys, his presence and prayers carry weight.

A History of Rejection

The relationship between Mzee Abdul and Diamond Platnumz has been complicated for years. Approximately five years ago, Diamond’s mother, Bi Sandra, publicly claimed that Mzee Abdul was not the singer’s biological father.

This revelation changed Mzee Abdul’s status within the family from "father" to "guardian."

Mzee Abdul admitted that he is wary of being rejected if he shows up uninvited. He noted that he does not want to create a scene at the hospital.

"You cannot force things. You might go and force it, then something different happens," he explained. He feels that if the family truly wanted him there, they would have made an effort to include him.

The Power of the Surname

Despite the claims that he is not the biological father, Diamond Platnumz continues to use the "Naseeb Abdul" name. The new baby, Sanura, has also been given this surname. Mzee Abdul views this as a silent acknowledgement of his role in their lives.

"By using my surname, they already know my importance," he remarked. He pointed out that his name is still used for official documents, including passports and bank records. He believes the family cannot easily erase his legacy.

Mzee Abdul concluded the interview by wishing the couple well. He praised Zuchu’s upbringing, noting that her mother, Khadija Kopa, is a "wise woman" who raised her daughter well.

For now, he remains at a distance, waiting to see if the family will eventually call upon him to meet his newest "grandchild."
