Investigations into the deadly Hillside Endarasha Academy dormitory fire have revealed widespread defects in the school's electrical system. Testifying before the inquest, EPRA Electrical Engineer Allan Mogoi said inspections found poor wiring, inadequate earthing, undersized cables and faulty circuit breakers that failed to meet required standards. EPRA also told the court that some power extensions were carried out by an unlicensed contractor, recommending the school director be held culpable for the lapses.
