Nairobi County public official Geoffrey Mosiria has launched a stinging social media attack on content creator Kelvin Kinuthia. The row follows Kinuthia’s appearance at Nadia Mukami’s 10th music career anniversary on Saturday night.
Kinuthia, a well-known TikToker, attended the gala in female attire, a move that Mosiria claims is damaging to Kenyan society.
Mosiria took to his digital platforms to express his bitterness over the incident. He argued that Kinuthia's choice of dress goes beyond simple entertainment. He believes the influencer is setting a dangerous precedent for the younger generation.
The 'Boy Child' Under Threat
The core of Mosiria's argument focuses on the impact Kinuthia has on young men. He expressed deep concern that such public displays are eroding traditional masculine values.
"Kinuthia, you are a bad influence to the boy child and a total shame to the men community," Mosiria posted.
Mosiria claimed to have encountered young men in Nairobi who cited Kinuthia as their "mentor" for similar content. He argued that this trend is leading to a crisis of identity among Kenyan youth.
"Our sons will soon be start dressing like women, behaving like women, doing what women do," Mosiria warned during a video address.
Kinuthia has long defended his crossdressing as a form of professional content creation. However, Mosiria rejected this excuse, calling the behaviour a public nuisance. He criticised the creator for maintaining a female persona "24/7" through make-up, wigs, and walking styles.
"Stop hiding behind the excuse of 'content creation,'" Mosiria stated.
The official also commented on Kinuthia’s physical appearance at the Saturday event. He noted that the creator appeared to be using women's clothing to hide his physique. He urged the influencer to dress in suits to show his success as a man instead.
"What you are promoting is immorality. What you are promoting is not right within our cultures," Mosiria added.
Demands for Stricter Regulation
Beyond social media criticism, Mosiria is now calling for official intervention. He urged content regulatory bodies to take down videos that promote crossdressing to general audiences. He suggested that such material should be barred from mainstream digital spaces.
"I call upon the relevant authorities to review this kind of content because I believe it raises ethical concerns," he wrote.
