Tanzanian music icon Diamond Platnumz has sent a playful but clear message to friends and family visiting his fiancé, Zuchu, in hospital. Following the birth of their first child, the singer has asked well-wishers to reconsider their choice of gifts.
A Humorous Request
Diamond took to his Instagram stories on Sunday to address those coming to see the new mother. He suggested that the couple has received enough floral arrangements.
"Wajomba na ma Aunty Mnaokuja Hospitali. Jamani, hatujazaa Nyuki haya Maua yanatosha, hebu njoeni na ela bana."
The message, which included a laughing emoji, translates to telling "uncles and aunts" that they have not given birth to a bee. He urged visitors to stop bringing flowers and bring cash instead.
The Arrival of their "Angel"
This request follows the long-awaited birth of the couple's daughter. Diamond and Zuchu announced the arrival on Sunday through a joint social media post.
"Welcome to the world, our precious little angel," Diamond wrote. He added that the newborn is "already loved more than words can ever say". Zuchu responded to the announcement, calling the baby her "whole world."
The birth came shortly after Zuchu shared a video of her final preparations for the hospital. She spent time packing a bag with essentials for herself and the baby.
Her list included items such as cotton, wipes, maternity pads, and baby blankets. She also packed sweaters to ensure the baby stayed warm.
"So tell me in your comments what do you pack while going to labor."
Zuchu admitted she was excited but also seeking advice as a first-time mother. "Any experienced mom?" she asked her followers.
A History of Generosity
Large sums of money have been a recurring theme in the lead-up to the birth. During a recent gender reveal party, Diamond surprised Zuchu with a massive cash gift. He presented her with TSh78 million.
Fans across East Africa quickly began calculating the value of the gesture. Social media users noted the gift was worth approximately 3 million Kenyan shillings.
"Diamond is a very GENEROUS JONASI," one fan commented online. Others joked that the gift was given because Zuchu might not be seen in public for a while after the birth.
Five Years in the Spotlight
The couple's journey to parenthood follows a high-profile relationship that began nearly five years ago. They first sparked dating rumours in late 2021 while working together at Diamond’s WCB Wasafi label.
Despite several public breakups and reconciliations over the years, the pair eventually settled down. In June 2025, Diamond revealed that he and Zuchu had privately tied the knot.
