Kenyan content creator Maureen Waititu has surprised her followers by revealing a luxury vehicle as a gift for National Girlfriend’s Day. The social media personality took to Instagram to showcase a black Toyota Prado SUV. This reveal followed an earlier post where she joked about her expectations for the day.
Ms Waititu is a well-known figure in the Kenyan entertainment industry. She gained prominence as a lifestyle YouTuber and a mother of two. Her latest update has sparked significant interest among her large online audience.
The Initial Hope for Flowers
The story began a day before the official celebration. Ms Waititu shared a post featuring a bouquet. She informed her followers that she had initially hoped for a car but received a floral arrangement instead.
She noted that her flower supplier did not stock vehicles. "For Girlfriends Day I hoped for an automobile–but my flower plug @flowerdeliveryke said they don’t sell them there," she wrote.
She humorously added, "so they delivered mine early- but who knows?"
The situation changed rapidly within a few hours. In a follow-up post, the influencer revealed that her partner had exceeded her expectations. She shared an image of the black SUV, admitting she had been too quick to judge the outcome of the day.
"Ooopsy, I think I spoke too soon -see my last 4th flower post," she told her followers. She explained that while she expected a simple gesture, she received a significant gift.
"I thought Girlfriend’s Day was going to be just flowers but the King showed up and now I’m a SUV owner heyyyy," she shared.

The vehicle in question is a Toyota Prado. The Prado is a popular mid-size four-wheel-drive vehicle manufactured by the Japanese automaker Toyota. In Kenya, these vehicles are highly regarded for their durability and off-road capabilities.
