Former Chief Justice David Maraga has criticised President William Ruto’s special national address, questioning whether the government’s economic gains have improved the lives of ordinary Kenyans. Maraga, who is seeking the presidency in the 2027 General Election asked Kenyans to assess their economic situation since Ruto took office, pointing to the cost of food, fuel and education. Former AG Justin Muturi has at the same time challenged the government to publish its scorecard if it believes in its economic blueprint.
