Mining CS Hassan Joho has ordered the immediate suspension of Tata Chemicals Magadi's mining operations over alleged failure to comply with mining laws and regulations. The ministry cites unresolved issues, including outstanding royalty payments, inadequate mineral value addition, weak community development commitments, poor local procurement and environmental compliance gaps. The company must address the outstanding issues and demonstrate full compliance before it is allowed to resume operations.
