Kenyan content creator Pritty Vishy has recently faced public scrutiny after announcing her transition into deejaying. While social media users reacted with skepticism, she found unexpected encouragement from one of the industry's most established figures.
A Public Announcement and Skepticism
Pritty Vishy took to Instagram to share her new career path. She posted a video addressing critics who laughed at her ambitions.
"To those who are laughing at me, watch this space. I will be the baddest DJ you will ever hear."
She later updated her followers on her progress. She announced that her debut mix would drop soon.
"See you on Monday, I will be dropping my latest mix... mnisupport ndo nisi give up."

Veteran Kenyan disk jockey Pierra Makena noticed the backlash. She recorded a video message to encourage the debut DJ. Makena urged Vishy to ignore the noise and stay focused on her craft.
"Do not stop. Pritty Vishy I am talking to you. If you have decided to become a DJ, do not stop,” she emphasized.
Makena shared her own experiences with early career struggles. She noted that veteran entertainers often face criticism before gaining respect.
"Don’t get discouraged, don’t give up, don’t feel like you are not worth it, NO. All of us DJs, we have all passed through that. There are times when we were told we are not good enough, that happens every time…”
Staying Resilient in the Industry
Makena emphasised that persistence is essential for anyone entering the entertainment scene. She advised Vishy to push past negative comments and keep working hard.
"So don't give up, just keep coming every day."
The supportive gesture highlights the importance of mentorship among women in Kenya’s entertainment industry. Vishy continues to prepare for her official mix release, backed by words of wisdom from a seasoned professional.

“Honestly, it was with so much concern that I felt the youth and generally most people tend to get frustrated when things don’t work out. In our current world, situations get tough andthat should not be a reason to demotivate you into achieving your goals.Stay ambitious, keep the consistency and be hopeful that good times will eventually turn up for you. You are your own cheerleader.”
