Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has appeared before the court to explain the police failure to provide security for the handover of Gatoto Primary School in Mukuru kwa Reuben. The court had ordered the institution to be reclassified from a public school to a private school and handed back to the petitioners. Kanja had requested one month to assess the situation before enforcing the order, but the court rejected the plea and gave him 30 minutes to consult his team and provide a compliance timeline.
