COTU has opposed plans to deploy NYS personnel to perform security and screening duties at Kenya's airports. COTU says the move could replace permanent aviation workers with insecure labour arrangements. Secretary General Francis Atwoli says the union supports employing NYS graduates but insists they should be recruited into permanent and pensionable jobs through the proper recruitment process, not as low-cost labour.
