Political analyst Herman Manyora says Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has struggled to win support in the Mount Kenya region following Rigathi Gachagua's removal. Despite this, Manyora believes President William Ruto is unlikely to replace him because choosing another deputy from a different region could trigger fresh political tensions. He says retaining Kindiki remains the safer political option for the President before 2027 elections.
