Kenya has highlighted its ongoing health reforms as a foundation for expanding local pharmaceutical manufacturing across Africa. Speaking at the African Union Summit in Ghana, Medical Services PS Ouma Oluga said the Social Health Insurance Act, Digital Health Act and Primary Health Care Act have created a predictable market for locally produced medicines. He added that Kenya is investing in the Kenya BioVax Institute to strengthen vaccine, diagnostic and essential medicine production.
