Kenyan musician Arrow Bwoy has responded to the intense backlash following his recent claims about his relationship with Nadia Mukami. The singer suggested that he is being unfairly targeted for statements that were originally made by Nadia herself.
The controversy began after Arrow Bwoy appeared on the Mic Cheque Podcast. During the interview, he claimed that Nadia started out as his "side chick." He also used a metaphor to describe winning her over from another man.
The ‘Number One Suspect’
Hours after the interview went viral, Arrow Bwoy took to his Instagram stories to share a message from a fan. The post argued that the hate towards Arrow Bwoy serves as a reminder to men of their position in society.
"The hate towards Arrow Bwoy must be a reminder to men that whatever happens, you're the number one suspect if anything goes wrong," the post shared by the singer stated.
The message further suggested that gender plays a role in the public's reaction. "Being a man, you're already chosen for hate," the shared text continued.
The core of Arrow Bwoy’s defense lies in the claim that Nadia Mukami had previously shared the same version of their origin story. According to the shared post, she did not face the same level of public anger when she spoke about it.
"He just said exactly what his lady said before on the same pod actually… but right now he's the bad guy," the message noted.
In his original podcast comments, Arrow Bwoy had been candid about the early stages of their romance.
"Mimi hata kukutana na Nadia, I think alikuwa side chick wangu," he said. He added that he eventually "overturned the government" to make her his partner.
Nadia’s Fierce Response
The defense comes as Nadia Mukami publicly blasted the singer for his comments. She accused him of trying to "clean" his image by offering to buy tickets for fans to her upcoming show on 1st August.
"You disrespect me then turn around and clean your statements eti unanunulia fans tickets!!!!" Nadia wrote on her Instagram stories. She was firm in her rejection of his support, calling it a "PR scheme."
A History of Public Friction
The pair has a long and complicated history. They first worked together on the hit song Radio Love in 2019. Since then, they have become parents to two children.
However, their personal lives have often played out in the media. Nadia Mukami publicly confirmed a breakup on 21st May 2026. Despite the split, Arrow Bwoy noted in the podcast that they still consider themselves a family.
"Tunaongea hii mapenzi yanaweza kataa lakini bado mko na familia," he explained.
