In a recent sit-down conversation shared online, Mumbus, the daughter of Kenyan celebrity couple Abel Mutua and Judy Nyawira, revealed how her father surprised her by fulfilling a major wish in record time.
During a relaxed chat with her mother, Mumbus detailed the events of a Thursday morning that saw her go from hopes and dreams to owning a brand-new piano in just 120 minutes.
A Mother’s Rejection
The story began with Mumbus' persistent requests to her mother, Judy Nyawira. For several days, the teenager had been trying to convince her mum to purchase a piano, but she was met with little success.
"A couple of days ago,I've been telling mommy, ‘Mommy we buy a piano’, she responds with a ‘no’," Mumbus explained. She felt she was getting nowhere with her request and decided she needed a different approach to get the instrument she wanted.
Mumbus decided to take her request directly to her father, Abel Mutua. She described him as a father who listened and "who sees me come in." On a Thursday morning, at approximately 11:00 AM, she walked into his office to make her pitch.
She asked him directly, "Daddy, so what do you feel about getting a piano?" Abel’s response was immediate and mysterious. He told her, "Oh, okay. Watch. Go sit down and then I'll tell you."
A Two-Hour Turnaround
Following her father's instructions, Mumbus went to sit down and wait. She did not have to wait long. Exactly two hours after their brief meeting in the office, the doorbell rang.
"2 hours later. Let's get ding dong," Mumbu recalled. Her father went to the door, and when he returned, the surprise was ready. Addressing her by her nickname, he simply said, "You play it now."
Parent Rivalry and Joy
The speed of the purchase caught Judy Nyawira completely off guard. As a film producer and mother, she was stunned by how quickly Abel had moved from a conversation to a delivery.
Judy jokingly accused Abel of trying to outshine her in the parenting department.
"Babe, why are you showing off with this parenting thing?" she asked. She continued to tease him about the grand gesture, saying, "Surely. This is over. This is overdoing it."
"It was just hopes and dreams," she said during the sit-down. Now, with the instrument physically in their home, she made her feelings clear to her parents. "I love my father," she stated simply.
