Tourism industry players are warning that negative political rhetoric could hurt jobs and businesses that rely on visitors. The Kenya Tourism Federation and regional tourism associations say cancelled trips and postponed investments directly affect hotel workers, tour guides, transport operators, artisans and farmers. Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo has joined those condemning former DP Rigathi Gachagua calling on tourists to avoid coming to Kenya.
