The government has recruited 100,000 teachers in the last three years, bringing it closer to its target of hiring 116,000 teachers before 2027. TSC CEO Evaleen Mitei says 56,000 were employed on permanent and pensionable terms, while 44,000 are interns. She says funding is now needed to recruit the remaining 16,000 teachers and fully deliver the government's pledge.
