The Union of Kenya Civil Servants has rejected the government’s latest salary review, terming it a routine increment rather than a meaningful pay rise. The union Secretary General Lawrence Nyaguti said the Salaries and Remuneration Commission ignored union proposals that considered the harsh economic realities. The union has given SRC and the Public Service Commission a 14-day ultimatum to stop the implementation and return to the negotiating table or phase a national strike.
