Kenyan streamer Vindee recently hosted controversial forex trader Onyango Tate for a day-long livestream. The broadcast, titled ' A Day with Onyango Tate’, featured the pair engaging in various activities such as playing pool and touring Tate’s residence.
During the session, the conversation turned toward the financial potential of digital content creation.
A Significant YouTube Payday
Vindee opened up about his earnings as a content creator when questioned by Tate. The trader asked about the highest amount the streamer had ever received from the platform.
Vindee revealed a peak payout that highlighted the lucrative nature of the Kenyan YouTube space.
"The most I have made out of YouTube is 750K," Vindee responded when Tate questioned him.
Vindee explained that YouTube provides a substantial income for those who understand how to leverage it. He described himself as a "student" of the platform who is willing to teach his audience for free.
This disclosure came as part of a wider debate on whether valuable financial knowledge should be charged for or shared openly.
Onyango Tate shared his own rise to wealth during the stream. He claimed to have started his trading journey while struggling to pay rent at the age of 18. By his early twenties, his financial situation had changed drastically.
"At age 21 I made my first million at age 22 I bought a Mercedes."
Tate now claims to earn "seven figures" in Kenyan shillings on a weekly basis. He also noted that he had made $50,000 in just the last three weeks through his trading activities.
He attributed this success to a relentless work ethic and what he describes as the "Mamba mentality."
Throughout the broadcast, Tate emphasised that consistency is the most important factor in escaping poverty. He told viewers that he was once "dead broke" and had to sleep on a thin mattress before finding success.
He urged the audience to dedicate themselves to a single skill until they see results.
"With consistency not even witchcraft can stop you."
The trader also spoke about the importance of personal packaging. He argued that people judge others based on their appearance and success. He stated that his Mercedes serves as a symbol of his discipline and his refusal to listen to critics.
Dealing with Success and Criticism
The livestream was not without tension, as the two discussed the disrespect often faced by those who are "broke." Tate claimed that his success was his "best revenge" against those who looked down on him in the past. He advised Vindee and the viewers to focus on their supporters rather than negative comments.
"You must hate poverty with all your heart."
