Edday Nderitu has shared a deeply personal update on her ongoing fitness journey. The estranged wife of Kenyan musician Samidoh moved to the United States in May 2023.

She relocated with her three children to start a new chapter. This move followed her decision to leave a polygamous marriage. She stated she wanted to find a healthier environment for her family.

Since she arrived in the US, Edday has been open about her life transitions. Her latest reflection focuses on the physical and mental toll of weight loss. She describes the process as a long and difficult struggle. It has been a three-year battle for the mother of three.

A Year of Major Progress

The past twelve months have yielded significant results for Edday. She revealed that she has lost 20 kg during this period. This achievement follows several previous attempts that did not last. She admitted that she has lost weight in the past, only to gain it all back.

“Losing weight isn’t easy. It’s been 3 years of trying. I’ve lost weight, gained it all back, and had to start over more than once. But I refused to give up.

Over the past year, I’ve lost 20 kg,” she posted.

Starting over multiple times can be discouraging. However, Edday says she refused to give up. Her relocation appears to have given her the space to focus on her well-being. She is now celebrating the milestones she has reached so far.

Navigating the Plateau

Weight loss is rarely a simple, downward curve. Edday is currently facing a challenging phase in her transformation. She has been stalled for the last four months. During such times, many people lose motivation. Edday is choosing a different perspective.

“Even though I’ve been stalled for the last 4 months, I’m choosing to celebrate how far I’ve come instead of focusing on how far I still have to go.”

She still has a specific target in her sights. Edday aims to lose a further 15 kg. She acknowledges that her journey is not yet over. Despite the current plateau, she remains determined. She feels she has come too far to turn back now.

Lessons in Consistency

This journey has changed how Edday views success. She no longer expects her progress to be perfect. She has learned that real change is often slow. The most important factor is her willingness to keep going.

“This journey has taught me that progress isn’t always fast, and it isn’t always perfect. What matters is showing up, staying consistent, and believing that every small step counts.”

Her daily routine is now built on small, sustainable actions. She focuses on one workout and one healthy choice at a time. This mindful approach helps her stay positive as she eyes the next 15 kg.
