Kenyan social media is currently gripped by a wave of non-consensual content leaks. These incidents have involved several high-profile women in the entertainment and political spheres. The latest case involves actress and TikTok star Sheryl Gabriella.
The Recent Case of Sheryl Gabriella
Sheryl Gabriella has been trending over the weekend after her alleged tape leaked online. The actress became a central topic of discussion as the footage began circulating across various platforms. The leak sparked immediate reactions from the Kenyan online community.
Gabriella took to her Instagram stories, cheekily reacting to the alleged leak, noting that since she’s trending, it’s the best time for businesses to capitalize on that.
The Silence Broken: Hannah Benta
Roughly three months prior to the Gabriella incident, another prominent creator faced a similar situation. TikToker Hannah Benta broke her silence after her private videos were leaked.
Her response to the breach of privacy garnered significant attention, with her social media posts recording over 820 reactions as she addressed the fallout.
“The private matter circulating on Telegram was meant for private eyes only. The leak was a violent violation of my privacy -And this is GENDER BASED VIOLENCE- This is emotional GBV, psychological GBV, physical GBV, and economic GBV. This is a crime. The culprit should be and will be in jail,” she said.
The start of 2026 saw a particularly distressing case involving Marion Naipei. The controversial videos of Marion Naipei were leaked online in mid-January 2026. These non-consensual clips began to circulate widely around 16 January 2026. Reports indicate the footage was captured at a Nairobi entertainment spot. At the time, the content showed Naipei in a vulnerable and incapacitated state.
“We met with this guy a year ago, we began chatting on WhatsApp, and became so close. He had a lot of promises; he promised me to go with him to the US when he arrived in Kenya,” she narrated.
Historical Precedence: Georgina Njenga
These recent events follow a pattern of digital privacy breaches that began years ago. On 4 January 2023, videos of influencer Georgina Njenga were leaked by unknown individuals. 
The content was primarily distributed through the messaging app Telegram.
In the aftermath, her then partner and babydaddy took to social media to offer support and send love to her during the crisis.
The Case of Millicent Omanga
The trend of leaked content has also touched the political arena, though some cases are disputed. The rumors regarding a leaked video involving Millicent Omanga emerged in mid-April 2023. During this period, YouTube and social media were flooded with sensationalised titles and speculative content.
However, the Omanga case differs from the others. Many viewed the claims as part of an online smear campaign or misinformation. No such authentic or verified content was ever confirmed to exist.
The recurring nature of these leaks highlights an ongoing struggle for digital safety among Kenya’s most visible women. While some cases involve verified breaches of privacy, others appear to be manufactured for political or social harm.
