Kenyan content creator Vindee has announced a bold new project for the region's digital landscape. He is officially launching the East Africa Streamers University. This move comes just days after the streamer was left out of a major international opportunity.
The Road to Independence
Vindee was recently omitted from American streamer Kai Cenat’s "Streamer University" Class of 2026. This followed an initially promising response from the American star’s team. Reports indicate that Vindee missed a final confirmation email because he was busy managing his professional schedules.
Reeling from the omission, the Kenyan streamer decided to create his own path. He confirmed that work has already begun on his local alternative.
"This is bigger than meit’s about creating opportunities, growing the streaming industry, and empowering the next generation of Streamers across East Africa."
In a video message addressed to Kai Cenat, Vindee laid out his plans and expressed his disappointment. He made it clear that his new venture is a serious undertaking.
He addressed the American streamer directly: "Ah, remember me, Kai? I'm the streamer from East Africa. I'm the one who you chose, but at the same time, you rejected me in the streamer university 2026."
Vindee continued to outline his resolve.
"And Kai, I was not joking by telling you I am starting my own East Africa streamers university. And I was not joking too. by telling you I don't want to see you visiting East Africa because you don't respect us cry."
Unity Among East African Creators
The project is moving forward at a rapid pace. Vindee confirmed that the "East Africa Streamers University" logo is already finished. He also announced that auditions for the first intake will begin soon.
Vindee claims that local streamers have reached a consensus regarding the American star's presence in the region. He stated that they have united and agreed that Cenat should not visit East Africa.
Building the Future of Streaming
On the first day of the project, Vindee took to social media to rally support from the community. He encouraged followers to suggest streamers for enrolment and invited brands to partner with the new institution.
His goal is to grow the streaming industry across the continent. "Let’s build the future of streaming together," he told his followers.
The initiative aims to empower the next generation of content creators. It represents a significant shift towards self-reliance in the East African digital economy.
