Kenyan digital content creator Eve Mungai has called on people to allow others the freedom to evolve, saying everyone deserves the chance to make decisions that align with their own happiness rather than public expectations.

In a series of Instagram Stories, the media personality reflected on her six-year journey in the public eye, opening up about how her understanding of success and fulfilment has changed since entering the entertainment industry at 20.
According to Eve, many people are quick to tell others how they should live their lives without first considering what truly makes them happy.

"I just woke up, and I was reflecting on something. We human beings have a tendency of always advising people what we think they should be doing, what is good for them."

She questioned whether people take the time to understand the personal dreams and aspirations of those they advise.
"Do we ever pause and think, what does this person exactly want?"

Choosing her own path

Eve admitted that for much of her career, she pursued opportunities because they were encouraged by people around her.
While she acknowledged that those decisions contributed to her success, she said there comes a time when every individual must evaluate whether they are living for themselves or for others.

"In my whole career life, I have been the person who did things because I was pushed to. I pursued dreams that people felt were best for me, which was okay, and it perfectly worked."

However, she said personal growth often begins with honest self-reflection.

"It reaches a point where you sit down and ask yourself, 'Is this exactly what I want as a person? Is this filling my heart? Do I get satisfaction in doing these things?'"

According to Eve, finding answers to those questions is essential for anyone seeking fulfilment.

'Give people grace to evolve'

The content creator also urged the public to be more accepting of change, arguing that people should not be criticised for choosing different paths as they grow.

"We really need to give people grace to evolve, to do whatever they want with their lives."

She noted that every person's journey is unique and that no one has all the answers.

"We are all living for the very first time, and there is no manual."

Eve added that it is unrealistic to believe one person's perspective is the only correct one.

"It's crazy to think that your perspective is the only perspective that is right."

Looking back on six years in the spotlight

Reflecting on her own career, Eve said she entered the industry as a young woman with little experience but has grown significantly over the years.

"I came to the industry when I was 20 years old. It's been six years in the industry, and it only gets better."

During that period, she said she has gained valuable experience while building meaningful relationships within the media and entertainment industry.

"I've learnt a lot. I've made great connections."

Eve first gained widespread recognition through celebrity interviews and entertainment reporting, becoming one of Kenya's most influential digital content creators.
