Kenyan comedian and entrepreneur Eddie Butita has revealed that his future wedding will be far more than a social celebration.Speaking during an interview with Tony Mwirigi on the Over 1M Podcast, the CEO of Stage Presence Media (SPM) explained his vision for a wedding ceremony designed as a high-level networking hub for the creative industry.
High Stakes and RSVP Only
The wedding is planned to be a "strictly VIP" and "strictly RSVP" event held somewhere within Kenya, but certainly not in Nairobi. Butita emphasised that the guest list will be carefully curated to ensure the best of the best are in attendance.
He even joked that the interviewer [Tony Mwirigi] might be excluded to prevent him from pitching shows during the ceremony.
Regarding the cost, the host suggested a potential budget of 30 million Kenyan Shillings. However, Butita maintained a strict financial philosophy. He stated he would only spend such an amount if his savings were triple that figure to avoid post-wedding liability.

A Star-Studded Performance Lineup
The ceremony will feature a premium lineup of Kenyan talent. Butita expressed a particular interest in having Nadia Mukami perform. He praised her communication style and professional brand.
"I have a list," Butita confirmed. "Nadia is a talent. I can pay her one million to sing at my wedding."
Other names mentioned for the event's lineup include Sauti Sol’s Bien, Otile Brown and Willy Paul.
The Boardroom Wedding
Butita, who has spent 15 years in the entertainment industry, views his wedding as a strategic platform. He told Mwirigi that guests should come prepared to do business. The entrepreneur envisions an environment where creators can pitch ideas and secure life-changing deals.
"In my wedding, come with proposals," Butita said.
"The networking that will be at my wedding. You can succeed. You are not just coming to a wedding. You are coming for networking. This wedding can get you out of poverty,” he added.

Over the last decade, he has built SPM Buzz into a major media entity. He estimates that he has invested significantly in the brand to reach its current status.
"I think we've used over 100 million," Butita said regarding his company's total investment. He currently manages a team of over 50 employees. He believes that professional structures are the key to unlocking "big deals" in the creative space.
Butita’s journey started in Kariobangi, where he recalls a time before he had seen the "entire world". His first car was a Nissan Tiida bought on loan in 2016. Today, he is a key figure in Kenyan media and recently travelled to the United States as part of President William Ruto’s entourage.
Despite the pressures of fame, he remains confident in his growth.
"One thing I was sure of is that I cannot fall," he told Mwirigi.
