The rivalry between popular Kisii forex traders Sammy Boy and Kenyan Prince has reignited this week. What began as a competition over bank balances has transformed into a personal war of words.
The latest spat involves high-end SUVs and claims of who truly owns the streets of Nairobi.
The 'Goshodo' Dispute
The feud reached a new low following a street interview between Sammy Boy and the streamer Vendee. During the session, Sammy Boy declared himself the only "cool kid" from the Kisii community living in Nairobi.
He dismissed his rivals using the local slang "goshodo," a term used to refer to women.
“I’m the only Kisii who is a cool kid in Nairobi, hao wengine ni magoshodo. Kenyan Prince is yet to qualify to be a cool kid. He’s still a kid, but not yet at the level of being cool,” Sammy Boy said.

Prince pointed out that Sammy Boy drives a red Range Rover Velar, which he categorises as a lady's car.
"Forex trader yupi anaendesha gari ya goshodo? Hiyo gari inaitwaje? Ni Range Rover.”
To prove his point, Kenyan Prince promised to purchase a brand new Range Rover Velar for his girlfriend, Stephanie Ngunjiri, once she returns from Dubai. He stated he would wrap the car in pink to demonstrate that the model is intended for women.
Sasa juu nimejam, when my girlfriend lands back from Dubai, I will buy her a brand-new Range Rover Vella to prove that guy yeye ndio Goshodo anaendesha gari ya magoshodo."
Tracing the June 2024 Showdown
This is not the first time the two traders have clashed over their fleets. The genesis of their public online feud dates back to June 2024. At that time, the pair engaged in a massive showdown of high-end car purchases to prove who possessed more capital.
On 12 June 2024, Kenyan Prince reportedly acquired a Mercedes GLE 350. He claimed the purchase was specifically intended to prove he was wealthier than Samwel Ondieki, better known as Sammy Boy. Prince boasted that the car cost him 11 million KES.

The rivalry is complicated by their history. Sammy Boy has frequently claimed that he was the one who taught Kenyan Prince how to trade forex. He has expressed disappointment in Prince’s recent behaviour, labelling it as "childish" and "rude."
"Clearly there's a video he confessed on how I was his mentor I think I can get the video and post it for you,” he remarked.
The feud has also seen allegations of clout chasing. Sammy Boy previously mocked Prince after reports surfaced that some of Prince's luxury cars had been repossessed due to payment issues.
In response, Prince challenged Sammy Boy’s financial status by offering to buy Sammy’s Audi TT for 4 million KES in cash, claiming the car was only worth 2.5 million KES.
"Ako kaTT alibuy na 3 million I'm willing to offer him 4 million cash. Si kipindi.”

The current showdown remains a fixture of Kenyan social media. With Kenyan Prince promising a pink Range Rover and Sammy Boy maintaining his "cool kid" status, the capital’s forex scene remains divided.
