Dr. Ofweneke has issued a public apology to musician Stevo Simple Boy following a controversial podcast episode. The comedian visited the artist in person over the weekend to mend their relationship.
This move follows intense public criticism regarding an interview on his digital show, Lessons at 30.
During the original broadcast, guest Andrew Kibe made disparaging remarks about Stevo Simple Boy’s appearance. Kibe suggested that the musician should not be allowed to father children.
Social media users quickly condemned the comments, noting that Ofweneke appeared to laugh during the mockery. The backlash led the host to remove the video from his platforms.
A Personal Visit
Seeking to resolve the tension, Ofweneke met with Stevo Simple Boy to offer a face-to-face apology. He described the visit as an act of humility and a test of character. The two have reportedly shared a professional bond for many years.
"The laughter was not intentional,” Ofweneke said.
Addressing the controversy, Ofweneke explained that his reaction was not a deliberate attempt to mock his friend. He attributed the moment to a natural impulse rather than malice.
"The laughter was a reflex action," Ofweneke stated during the meeting. "I actually do regret that as a brother that should not have happened."

"Life is not a beauty contest," he remarked. "Nobody cares about how you look. We all care about the work that you bring in people's lives. I will stand by you even more now because God had a reason to help us,” he added.

Ofweneke confirmed that he has permanently pulled down the offending podcast episode. He expressed his intention to feature Stevo Simple Boy on a future episode of Lessons at 30, allowing the artist to share his own story.
The comedian also acknowledged the public's role in holding him accountable. He thanked fans for their positive criticism and for correcting him with love.
"I am sorry, and I love you so much," Ofweneke said directly to Stevo. "I humbly accept the positive criticism."
"It was not worth it, and I'm really sorry for that. We live to learn and fight another day.”
