During a recent visit from a local content creator, Wema’s mother, Mariam Sepetu, finally settled the curiosity of thousands of fans by revealing the meaning behind the newborn's name.
A Name Defined by Peace
For weeks, social media has been abuzz with questions regarding the name "Ollie.” Speaking from their family home, Mariam Sepetu explained that the name was chosen with deep spiritual intention.
"Many people are asking what 'Ollie' means," Mariam said during the recorded visit. "Ollie is at peace. And always, the peace of Almighty God is something you cannot push away or lose,” she added.
Wema’s Journey to Motherhood
The birth of Baby Ollie marks a major milestone for Wema Sepetu. It is well-known from wider online reports that Wema—a former Miss Tanzania and celebrated actress—has been open about her long and difficult journey toward becoming a mother.
For years, her fertility struggles were a subject of public discussion, making this moment particularly poignant for her followers.
Within the home, the atmosphere is one of disbelief and gratitude. Wema admitted that she often finds herself staring at her son in wonder.
"Sometimes I sit and look at Baby Ollie and ask myself, 'Are you really mine?'" she shared while nursing. She credited the miracle entirely to her faith, noting that she spends her days in prayer and "dua" (supplication).

In Tanzanian culture, these items are highly valued for their nutritional benefits. Mariam Sepetu explained that the pweza (octopus) soup is intended to help Wema produce "good, nutritious milk" for breastfeeding.
The logic is simple: if the baby is well-fed and full, he will sleep better, allowing the mother the essential rest she needs to recover.
