Kenyan storyteller and digital content creator Abel Mutua has officially hit the one-million subscriber mark on YouTube. This milestone comes exactly six years and one month after he first launched his channel.

The achievement was met with an outpouring of celebration from friends, colleagues, and long-term fans.

The moment was captured vividly in a room filled with close friends who gathered to watch the live subscriber count. As the numbers ticked upwards from 999,990, the atmosphere became electric. The group tracked every single addition to the tally.

"Five more," one friend called out as the count reached 999,995. The tension grew as the numbers shifted: "96... Twende watatu tu. Watatu tu. Twende wewe. 98. 99".

When the counter finally hit 1,000,000, the room erupted into cheers and celebration. Friends shouted "congrats" and "mkuru mazee congrats" as they toasted to the success of the man popularly known as 'Mkurugenzi'.

"Asanteni hata sijui niwaambie nini mmekwama na mimi it's been six years one month exactly, finally tumewahi. Mungu ni mwema," he said.

Mutua also highlighted the difficulty of reaching such a significant number in the digital space. He called for respect for anyone who achieves this level of growth on the platform.

"Congratulations to us man a million hiyo si mchezo jo we mtu yeyote ako na more than a million subscribers on YouTube apatiwe tu heshima yake hiyo kazi si mchezo."

Mutua expressed that age and time are not barriers to success in the industry. He noted that "miaka si limitation" and added that "na bado tunasonga tu."
