Sky, the daughter of the prominent Kenyan preacher Prophet Victor Kanyari, has taken to social media to address recent controversies surrounding her family. In a candid live broadcast, the teenager clarified her role in the departure of their former nanny and defended her personality against claims of rudeness.
The young social media personality felt compelled to speak out after what she described as a buildup of stories and rumours. She expressed a desire to protect her father’s reputation from potential backlash following the nanny’s dismissal.
Taking Responsibility for the Firing
One of the most significant revelations in Sky's video was her admission that she was the one who decided the nanny should leave. She urged the former employee to be honest about who decided if she chose to speak publicly.
Sky expressed concern that the nanny might target her father in future statements.
"Don't speak for my dad because I'm pretty sure she's going to go and speak out and say something that will affect my dad negatively because she thinks it's my dad who fired her," Sky explained.
Confidence vs Rudeness
The core of Sky’s message focused on how others perceive her communication style. She anticipated that the former nanny would label her as "rude," a claim she strongly rejects.
Instead, Sky describes herself as a confident and outspoken child who is not afraid to stand up for herself.
“I am not rude, I’m just an outspoken kid. I am confident about what I say. I am not going to shy off,” she added.
She recounted instances where she felt the nanny had been the one to initiate conflict.Sky noted that she would simply respond to what was said to her. She recalled asking the nanny directly, "Why are you being rude to me? You don't have to be rude."
According to Sky, these direct responses were misinterpreted as a lack of respect.

"I would say Africans would refer [to] confidence as I don't know," she remarked, indicating a disconnect between her self-perception and how society views vocal children.
