Popular content creator Abel Mutua and his wife, producer Judy Nyawira have ignited a bold claim that Generation Z people are aging at a faster rate as compared to the generation of millennials.
In a video recorded by the couple, they directly challenged the younger generation regarding their physical appearance.
“Take it to the Bank”
During the recorded session, the couple did not hold back. They suggested that many Gen Zs look much older than their actual years. Abel Mutua was particularly vocal about the physical differences he observes when meeting younger people in public.
"Gen Zs, you are ageing faster than us. Take it to the bank," the couple stated during the recording.
The scriptwriter noted that he often encounters individuals who are only 19 or 20 years old but possess the physical presence of someone much older. 
He remarked that when standing next to such individuals, he feels he looks considerably younger despite being in an older age bracket.
A Growing Physical Gap
The conversation highlighted a perceived shift in how different generations carry themselves. Mutua described many modern youths as being "big" or looking physically mature beyond their chronological age. He expressed genuine surprise at learning the ages of some of the people he meets.
"You meet some of them and when you hear they are 19 or 20, you wonder," Mutua said. "How are you 19? If we stand together, I look younger than you,” Judy added.
The couple acknowledged that their comments might draw ridicule from the younger generation. However, they insisted that the physical evidence is undeniable, even if Gen Z chooses to laugh the claims off.
Lifestyle vs. Biology
The video has sparked a wider debate about what could be causing this perceived rapid ageing. While the couple focused on the visual aspect, the discussion has shifted toward lifestyle choices and environmental factors.
Questions have been raised regarding whether the lifestyle of Gen Z—which differs greatly from how Millennials lived at the same age—is to blame.
The remarks have prompted a wave of reactions from followers and the general public. While some viewers agree that there is a visible "maturity" in Gen Z's appearance, others argue that it is simply a matter of fashion and different grooming standards.
The couple concluded by noting that while Gen Z might mock Millennials for being "old," the two generations are beginning to look more alike in age than they should.
“You laugh at us but know that we look the same,” he added jokingly.
