Tanzanian music star Alikiba has praised Kenyan fans for their support over the years, saying the country has always appreciated good music and talent.
Speaking during an interview with Massawe Japanni on Radio Jambo on Friday morning, the celebrated Bongo Flava singer opened up about his music, football passion, and upcoming Nairobi concert.
Alikiba appeared excited throughout the interview as he discussed his long relationship with Kenyan fans and the East African entertainment industry.
“Kenyans know how to choose the best musicians,” Alikiba said during the interview.

The singer also encouraged upcoming Kenyan artistes to embrace proper Kiswahili in their music, noting that language plays a major role in preserving East African culture and identity.
Why He Takes Time Before Releasing Music
The Aje hitmaker explained why he often takes longer periods before releasing new songs, saying he prefers quality over pressure from the industry.
According to Alikiba, he carefully prepares his music to ensure fans receive good productions whenever he drops a project.
“You won’t regret coming to watch us,” he assured fans ahead of his Nairobi performance.
The musician is set to headline the “One Night Only” concert on Sunday, 31 May, at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi. The show is expected to attract hundreds of fans from Kenya and neighbouring countries.
Alikiba remains one of the most influential Bongo Flava artists in East Africa, with a career spanning over two decades. He has released several regional hits, including Mwana, Mahaba, Seduce Me, and Dushelele.
Football Passion
Away from music, the singer also spoke about his love for football. Alikiba revealed that he is a passionate supporter of Liverpool F.C. and wished Arsenal fans well ahead of their weekend clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final.
He also described himself as a footballer, adding that sports remain one of his biggest hobbies outside music.
Hassan Joho’s Support
During the interview, Alikiba also acknowledged former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho for supporting him throughout his career.
The singer described Joho as a close friend and “like a brother”, adding that the politician will definitely attend the Nairobi concert.
