Outfit Draws Attention Online
Despite the celebratory mood surrounding the wedding, much of the online discussion shifted towards Ruth’s outfit.
The politician wore a beige skirt with decorative fabric details, paired with a white ruffled blouse and a floral-patterned jacket. Dr Busia complemented the occasion in a green suit matched with a green shirt and black shoes.
Soon after the photos surfaced online, Kenyans flooded comment sections with humorous reactions, with many questioning the tailoring and styling of the outfit.
“Sometimes, Ruth, it’s hard to be on your side,” one user wrote.
Another commented:
“Fundi wenyu huwa hajaribu ata.”
A different social media user joked:
“Huyu fundi aekwe ndani.”
Others focused on the skirt’s design, with one person writing:
“Ruth yooo, umevaa gunia ama skirt?”
However, not all reactions were negative. Some supporters defended Ruth and praised her confidence.
“Great looks, mheshimiwa, you equally dressed well,” another user commented.

Public figures in Kenya continue to attract attention not only because of politics or public appearances, but also because of fashion choices shared online.
Social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok have amplified conversations around celebrity and political fashion, with outfits often becoming trending discussion topics within hours.
Members of prominent political families have also faced similar attention in the past. In 2023, Junior Nyong'o, son of Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o, sparked online debate after sharing photos from Renaissance World Tour while dressed in a bold outfit featuring a tumbocat and shiny trousers.
The reactions to Ruth Odinga’s latest appearance once again highlighted how fashion choices by public personalities continue to generate wide discussion across Kenyan social media spaces.
