The upcoming celebrity boxing match between Kenyan singer Arrow Bwoy and Ugandan boxer Shakib Cham Lutaaya has taken a personal turn. What started as a sporting rivalry has moved into a social media clash involving Shakib’s wife, socialite Zari Hassan.
The two are set to headline the "Vurugu 2.0: The Ultimate Arena" event on 20 June. The match is scheduled to take place at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi.
A Provocative Threat
Tensions escalated when Arrow Bwoy posted a provocative message directed at Shakib. The singer, who recently confirmed he is single after wifeNadia Mukami announced their breakup, claimed that Shakib does not deserve his wife, Zari the Boss Lady.
Arrow Bwoy suggested that after their fight in June, he would "snatch" the businesswoman and socialite. He even proposed a new social media hashtag for their potential pairing.
"Now that I am single @shakib_cham you don’t deserve that beautiful lady Zari the Boss Lady... from 20th June the hashtag will be #ARROW$ZARI."
The singer further taunted Shakib by asking promoter Oga Obinna to find a Sheikh to perform a marriage ceremony as soon as possible.
Shakib’s Stern Warning
Shakib Cham Lutaaya was quick to respond to the singer's comments. He issued a clear warning to Arrow Bwoy to keep family matters out of the promotion for their fight.
The boxer told Arrow Bwoy not to "cross that line." He urged the singer to focus his energy on the physical match waiting for them in the ring.
"My wife isn’t part of this fight, so keep her name out of it. Don’t cross that line and make me angrier. Save the energy for the ring on June 20th."
