Nairobi is preparing for a cultural reset on this year’s Madaraka long weekend. On Sunday, 31 May 2026, the Sarit Expo Centre will host One Night Only, a high-end production bringing together four global icons.
Among them is the "King of Bongo Flava," Alikiba, a man whose two-decade career has defined the East African sound.
A Legacy of Nostalgia
For Kenyan fans, Alikiba is more than a performer; he is a nostalgic anchor. The crowd is expected to scream every word to "Cinderella." Released in 2007, this undisputed classic launched his career and remains a crowd favourite that evokes intense nostalgia.
His “Mapenzi Yana Run Dunia” 2011 hit remains evergreen until today, as most Millennials still identify with Alikiba through the song. The Swahili lyrics, which translate loosely to "love runs the world," are deeply emotional and touch on the power of love, vulnerability, and the challenges of relationships.

Following his brief hiatus, Alikiba returned with "Mwana" in 2015. This career-defining track remains one of his most celebrated and streamed classics. It established a blueprint for the "sing-along" factor that characterises his live shows.
The Modern Era Hits
The energy in Nairobi and Mombasa often reaches a frenzy when Alikiba performs his high-tempo showstoppers. "Aje," released in 2016, is considered an absolute showstopper due to its signature vocals.
This was followed by "Seduce Me" in 2017, which propelled him into an exclusive tier of African artists and dominated Kenyan airwaves.
Even his more recent tracks have achieved massive digital success. "Dodo," a romantic anthem from 2020, quickly surpassed 26 million views on YouTube.
The "Finale" with Bien
The 2026 edition, themed "1 Queen, 3 Kings," marks the first time Alikiba will share a stage with Kenya’s Bien, alongside American legends Kirk Whalum and Karyn White.
There is massive anticipation for a potential live performance of "Finale." This recent collaboration between Bien and Alikiba shattered East African records, racing past 10 million views in under two weeks.
Imagine Alikiba and Bien sharing the live stage for a unique performance of their hit music collab. That moment alone is worth the ticket price.

A Las Vegas-Level Experience
This event is modelled after high-end, Las Vegas-level production. The dress code is strictly Black Tie, Elegant, and Sophisticated. Gates open at 3:00 PM for a programme that concludes at 10:00 PM.
Following the success of the 2025 Kenny G concert, which saw 81% of attendees express a desire to return, demand is high. The 2025 edition not only met expectations but also shattered them, completely selling out with over 2,000 attendees and earning a staggering 93.75% rating from the crowd.
Organisers have confirmed there will be NO GATE TICKETS. Once the tickets are sold out, they are gone.
