The renovation appears to focus on improving both the ceremonial appeal and functionality of the institution, which hosts high-level state functions, diplomatic engagements and official receptions.

In photos seen by the Star, State House, Nairobi, is seen with a refreshed white façade that highlights its long-standing colonial-era architectural design.

The main structure maintains its symmetrical two-storey layout, complete with a central portico supported by tall columns and a triangular pediment.

The surrounding wings feature evenly aligned arched and rectangular windows that reinforce the building’s balanced design.

The forecourt has also been enhanced, with a wide paved courtyard stretching across the front of the building.

A red carpet runs from the entrance towards the landscaped gardens, reinforcing the ceremonial character of the venue.

Flagpoles displaying the Kenyan flag and the Presidential Standard remain prominently positioned within the compound.

At night, the changes are more visible through modern lighting installations.

The building is illuminated with soft white and blue uplighting, giving it a glowing appearance against the night sky.

The pathways are lined with subtle lighting features that add contrast to the traditional architecture.

The expansive grounds, featuring manicured lawns, driveways and mature trees, continue to provide a secure and serene environment, while reflecting a more modern presentation of the State House complex.
