Kenyan entertainer and content creator Oga Obinna has sparked online debate after abruptly ending an interview with a man identified as Collins Maina, who claimed he was the top KCPE candidate in 2012.

The interview, aired on Obinna’s online show, initially focused on Collins’ emotional life story. He spoke about allegedly losing both parents at a young age and struggling to continue with education due to financial hardship.

His account had earlier gained sympathy on social media, with many Kenyans praising his resilience and calling for support to help him rebuild his life.

However, things quickly changed during the live interview when Obinna began questioning inconsistencies in Collins’ claims.

Questions That Raised Doubts

During the conversation, Obinna asked Collins to provide details that many former top candidates would likely remember, including his KCPE marks, subject performance, and school details.
“What did you score in English? What about Mathematics? What’s your index number?” Obinna asked during the interview.
Collins appeared unable to provide direct answers. He also struggled to explain why there were no publicly available records or photos linking him to the alleged achievement.
The situation became more awkward after an old clip resurfaced showing the then Education minister announcing the top KCPE candidate for 2012 as Kinori Joy Kathure from Meru County.

Mixed Reactions Online

Some Kenyans accused Collins of misleading the public for clout, while others argued he may have acted out of desperation to gain attention online.
“He lies with a straight face. This is hilarious,” one user commented.
Another viewer wrote:
“He did well for the exposure. Now he has followers.”

Obinna Walks Out

In a moment that has since gone viral, the comedian walked away from the interview desk laughing, leaving one of his crew members to continue the conversation.
A later clip showed security escorting Collins out of the studio after he reportedly admitted he was a content creator.
