The Kakamega County MCA hopeful, Nuru Okanga’s white Toyota Probox, was involved in a grisly accident. The vehicle reportedly rolled three times. Images from the scene reveal the devastating impact of the high-speed roll.
The roof of the Probox is severely caved in on the driver’s side. The windshield is a spiderweb of shattered glass. The entire body of the car is caked in thick mud and grass. This suggests the vehicle left the tarmac and tumbled through a ditch.
The Post That Divided Fans
Shortly after the incident, Okanga took to Facebook to update his followers. He confirmed that he was safe. However, his choice of gratitude sparked an immediate and heated debate online. Instead of the traditional expressions of faith common in such situations, Okanga focused his thanks elsewhere.
"I want to thank my mechanic, Mr Makokha, who has decided to stand with me. Those willing to support can send him something small, 'weka yeye chai.' As for me, I am safe and sound,” Okanga posted.

Followers were quick to call out the omission of religious thanks. Many questioned why a mechanic was being prioritised over divine intervention.
