Party Leader Oburu Oginga has moved to reinforce ODM’s foothold in Kakamega County after chairing a high-level leadership meeting bringing together key party figures and elected leaders in the region.

The meeting, held Monday, May 11, brought together former Deputy Party Leader and current CS Cooperatives and MSMEs Development Wycliffe Oparanya; Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, who also serves as the county party chairman; and some Members of Parliament from the county.

Also in attendance were ODM Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati and Director of Elections Junet Mohamed.

The discussions focused on solidifying ODM’s presence in Kakamega, with leaders urged to work in unity and strengthen coordination across the county.

Oburu emphasised the need for cohesion among party leaders, underscoring the importance of regular engagement and teamwork to reinforce the party’s structures at the grassroots level.

The meeting also resolved that party leaders in the county should hold periodic consultations aimed at enhancing internal unity and organisational strength.

Leaders present agreed that closer collaboration would be key in consolidating ODM’s political base in Kakamega, which remains one of the party’s strongholds.

The engagement is part of broader efforts by the party leadership to streamline operations and ensure consistency in messaging and mobilisation ahead of future political activities.
