As expected, the internet reacted almost immediately after the church clip surfaced online.
Thousands of users filled comment sections with jokes, criticism, and memes, with many saying the situation sounded more like a comedy show than a church service.
Some users sympathised with Naipei while others mocked both her and Kanyari.
A section of Kenyans argued that social media culture was increasingly finding its way into religious spaces.
Some of the reactions included:
“Kanyari atajua hajui 😌😌”
“Sinners judging a sinner for sinning differently.”
“Ukiexplain sana kuna kitu. Siwezi proof tu😂”
“Hii church nowadays ni Netflix ya Kenya.”
“Mambo ya TikTok imefika hadi madhabahuni.”

Kanyari’s Kasarani MP Ambitions
The viral church exchange comes at a time when Pastor Kanyari has officially declared interest in the Kasarani Member of Parliament seat ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Since making the announcement, the preacher has intensified grassroots engagements across the constituency in an effort to connect with residents directly.
Kanyari has repeatedly insisted that leadership requires physical presence among ordinary wananchi rather than relying only on speeches and publicity.
“No shortcuts to leadership — lazima uvae viatu, uingie ground, usalimie watu na usikie shida zao live!” Kanyari recently said while interacting with residents in Kasarani.
