‎The former vice president further prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family, saying he hoped they would find peace and support in one another as they come to terms with the loss.

‎“May you find strength, comfort, and peace in one another, and may her soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.

‎Kega took to his social media pages on Friday to express grief over the death of his mother, saying he was struggling to come to terms with the loss.

‎“I am devastated and heartbroken! It is well with my soul; however, it is difficult to believe that my mother has rested. It’s painful,” Kega wrote.

‎The message attracted an outpouring of condolences from fellow politicians, friends and supporters, many of whom encouraged the former Kieni MP to remain strong during the mourning period.

‎Mama Ann Nyatoro Ndung’u was described by family friends as a devoted mother and pillar of strength to her family.

‎Burial arrangements are expected to be communicated later by the family.

‎The death comes as Kega, alongside Nyandarua Senator Joe Methu, left the country for the UK ahead of DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua's expected tour.
