Human rights activists staged a procession to protest the April 24, 2026, ruling by the Court of Appeal of Kenya that overturned a 2022 High Court decision recognising access to abortion as a constitutional right.

The women activists marched while chanting slogans and carrying placards, insisting that access to safe abortion is a human right that should be protected in Kenya.

During the demonstration, the protesters called on the government to listen to their concerns and safeguard reproductive health rights for women and girls.

The activists argued that the appellate court’s decision threatens gains previously made in advancing women’s reproductive rights and access to healthcare.
