Pharmacy and Poisons Board candidates sit their professional exams on November 20, 2025. /PPB/XThe Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has announced the schedule and guidelines for its June 2026 professional examinations, setting strict conditions for candidates before and during a five-day assessment period that will be conducted entirely through online.
In a notice on Wednesday, the chief executive officer said the pre-registration examinations (Stage I and II) and enrolment examinations (Level I and II) will run from June 8 to June 12, 2026, across designated examination centres.
The exams will be administered digitally, reinforcing a continued transition toward technology-driven assessment in the pharmaceutical training sector.
Candidates intending to sit for the examinations have been directed to submit their applications through the PPB online services portal by May 22, 2026.
The Board emphasised that this deadline is firm, effectively setting a three-week preparation window between the closure of applications and the start of the exams.
Candidates are required to select their preferred examination centres during the application process, but the board cautioned that the centres are subject to change.
Applicants are advised to frequently check the portal for any updates in the lead-up to the examinations.
"The exam centres are subject to change and candidates must regularly check the portal before the exam for any changes," the notice said.
The advisory reflects a closely managed logistics likely designed to accommodate operational adjustments or capacity considerations.
A notable requirement is for each candidate to secure they have a reliable computer device with stable internet connectivity.
The board said the device must be fully charged and capable of sustaining at least three hours of continuous use, underscoring the technical nature of the online test.
To mitigate potential technical or procedural challenges, the PPB has scheduled mandatory mock exams on June 8 at the respective examination centres.
The sessions to be taken at home are intended to familiarise candidates with the exam portal and setup and execution of the actual examination under supervised conditions.
"The dates for the mock exams will be communicated in due course," the board said.
Candidates with disabilities or health conditions that may affect their ability to sit the online exams have been asked to notify the board immediately.
Such notifications must be submitted in writing and accompanied by relevant medical documentation.
Further enquiries can be made via the official email address [email protected].
The June examination window will serve as a critical milestone for pharmacy professionals seeking progression through Kenya’s regulatory certification framework.
The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) is the national drug regulatory authority mandated to regulate the pharmacy profession and ensure the safety, quality and efficacy of medical products and health technologies.
It licenses practitioners, regulates premises, inspects pharmacies, conducts market surveillance and handles drug recalls.
