President William Ruto is in Tanzania for a two-day State visit, where he held bilateral talks with President Samia Suluhu Hassan at State House in Dar es Salaam.

During the meeting, the two leaders oversaw the signing of eight agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation between Kenya and Tanzania across key sectors.

Ruto described the talks as fruitful, noting that the agreements are expected to significantly broaden and deepen ties between the two countries.

“Our robust bilateral relations are underpinned by a solid economic partnership. We continue to expand our ties as we explore new opportunities to strengthen our economies,” he said.

The President emphasised that Kenya and Tanzania share an enduring relationship anchored on trade, shared interests and a joint commitment to economic growth and prosperity.

He added that the two nations are focused on safeguarding the gains made through their partnership while pursuing new areas of collaboration to benefit their citizens.

Ruto is expected to continue engagements in Tanzania as part of the State visit, which aims to reinforce diplomatic and economic ties between the neighbouring nations.
