President William Ruto at A.I.C. Githumu, Kandara, Murang’a County on April 3, 2026/PCS

President William Ruto on Sunday attended church service at  A.I.C. Githumu, Kandara in Murang’a county.

Ruto was accompanied by several leaders from the region.

They include Lands CS Alice Wahome and the nominated Senator Veronica Maina.

Ruto has, in recent times, intensified his onslaught in Mt Kenya in a sustained effort to win back political support in the restive region ahead of the 2027 elections.

Political analysts view the successive engagements as a deliberate strategy to reassert his influence in a region that voted for him almost to a man but has turned hostile following the fallout with Gachagua.
