Manchester United's Benjamin Sesko (L) celebrates with Bruno Fernandes/ MANCHESTER UNITEDManchester United vs Liverpool
[Old Trafford, Sunday at 5.30 pm]
Third-placed Manchester United welcome fourth-placed Liverpool to Old Trafford for the headline act of Matchweek 35, a meeting dripping in history, hostility and huge top-four implications.
This fixture rarely needs added spice, but both clubs arrive with plenty on the line.
United sit on 61 points, three clear of Liverpool on 58, meaning victory for the hosts would create breathing space, while an away win would drag the Merseysiders level on momentum and within touching distance.
United already landed an early psychological blow this season with a 2-1 win at Anfield back in October 2025. Yet Liverpool will remember their last visit to Old Trafford fondly, when they tore through United in a ruthless 3-0 triumph.
The Red Devils come in on the back of successive league wins and appear to be gathering rhythm at precisely the right moment. Liverpool, meanwhile, are on a three-match winning streak of their own, though injuries to Hugo Ekitike and talisman Mohamed Salah are a significant blow.
For United, much will flow through the creative authority of Bruno Fernandes, while Benjamin Sesko is expected to provide the cutting edge up front. Liverpool’s wide threat against United’s full-backs could well decide where the points land.
Prediction: Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool
Kakamega Homeboyz vs Gor Mahia
[Mumias Sports Complex, Sunday at 3pm]
League leaders Gor Mahia head to Mumias knowing another three points would tighten their grip on the title race, but Kakamega Homeboyz are unlikely to roll out the green carpet.
K’Ogalo sit top on 61 points, while Homeboyz occupy fourth on 47.
Confidence in the Gor camp is high after edging arch-rivals AFC Leopards 1-0 in the 99th Mashemeji derby.
History leans heavily in Gor Mahia’s favour. They have won 12 of the previous 22 meetings, with Homeboyz managing just four victories.
The reverse fixture earlier this season also ended in a narrow 1-0 win for Gor.
Yet Mumias has been a fortress. Homeboyz have suffered just one home defeat all campaign — a 2-0 reverse to Nairobi United back in October. They are, however, searching for renewed spark after three matches without victory, most recently a 1-1 draw against KCB.
This has all the makings of a tense, physical contest with little margin for error. Homeboyz will make it awkward, but Gor’s momentum may prove decisive.
Prediction: Kakamega Homeboyz 0-1 Gor Mahia
Shabana vs Kenya Police
[FKF Cup – Gusii Stadium, Saturday 2 pm]
Two of the league’s strongest outfits collide in the cup quarter-finals as Shabana host Kenya Police with a place in the semi-finals up for grabs.
With hopes of retaining the league crown fading, Police now have a clear target, cup silverware. They arrive in strong form, unbeaten in five league outings and carrying the look of a side that knows how to manage pressure.
Shabana, meanwhile, are unbeaten in two and will draw serious energy from a packed Gusii Stadium. They are typically fierce on home soil and rarely give visitors a comfortable afternoon.
The most recent meeting between these sides at the same venue ended goalless, and another cagey encounter would be no surprise. Police are likely to stay compact and disciplined, waiting for moments to counter. Shabana will look to inject tempo, emotion and attacking thrust.
Cup ties often hinge on nerve rather than flair, and this one feels destined to be settled the hard way.
Prediction: Shabana 1-1 Kenya Police (Kenya Police win on penalties)
