Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua has mourned the beastial murder of seven people in a bandits attack at Kwa Kamari market centre in Tseikuru in Mwingi North sub,county on Saturday.


At the same time the Senator accused the Kenya Kwanza government of failing to protect the people of Kitui to the point that they were being slaughtered like chicken.


‎"The horrific attack and killing of seven people in Kwa Kamari, Tseikuru Ward, by bandits is the latest demonstration of the inability or unwillingness of the Ruto regime to secure and protect our people against sustained aggression by camel herders.," Wambua said.

‎He lamented that numerous such attacks have happened for far too long with no action against the bandits.


‎"I condemn the latest attacks and put the Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen on the spot for failure to reign in on these maraunding bandits masquarading as camel herders," said the Senator.


‎"To the families of the victims of the latest attack, I pass my heartfelt condolences. May the Lord our God strengthen and comfort you during this difficult time," he said as he condoled with the bereaved families. 


‎Wambua recalled that a few weeks ago, a young man was brutally murdered by bandits in the same Tseikuru ward where the latest attack took place.


‎"How many more of our people must die in the hands of bandits before CS Murkomen takes decisive action?," posed Wambua in a press  statement on Sunday.


‎He challenged CS Murkomen come out in the open and explain how he expects the people of Kitui to defend themselves in the wake of escalating bandits attacks, maiming and the killings.


‎The Senator noted that all and sundry were aware that the attacks on the people of Kitui were happening right on land belonging to Kitui County.


‎"Why and for how long should our people continue to suffer in the hands of invading bandits? For how long?," Wambua posed.
