
A 30-year-old woman was found murdered in her room in Samburu, Kwale County, police said.
The motive of the murder was not immediately known.
This is the latest such incident reported in the area involving women.
Two other women were separately found murdered in the Mackinnon area on Wednesday, police said, adding that investigations are ongoing and no arrests had been made.
On Thursday, April 23, the body of the woman was found half-naked in her room.
Police said neighbours became concerned after they had not seen her for some time.
They checked her room and found her body lying on the floor with blood stains on her face.
A pair of socks and unused condoms were found next to the body.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
In Mariakani, Kilifi County, a female commercial sex worker was found murdered in a room.
The body of Salfine Juma was found in a lodging where she had slept.
Her colleagues raised concern after they had not seen her for a day and, upon checking, found her lying on the bed unresponsive.
Police broke into the room and found the woman covered with a bedsheet. They established she had been strangled using a piece of cloth.
The body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy, police said.
The motive in both murder incidents was not known, police said, adding that they were pursuing possible suspects.
Meanwhile, police in Songhor, Nandi County are investigating an incident in which Moses Kipruto Langat, 36, was found dead in a sugarcane plantation.
The body was discovered on April 23, two days after he was last seen.
Police said the body had bruises on the face.
The body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy and other investigations.
In a separate incident, the body of a man believed to be that of Jackson Nyamai Muthini, 35, who had previously been reported missing on April 20 in Sultan Hamud, Makueni County, was retrieved from River Muooni at Ndivuni village, Nduguni sub-location.
The body, which had been partly buried in riverbed sand and covered by dead vegetation, had some missing lower limbs, police said. It was moved to the mortuary.
In another case, a 64-year-old man was found dead in his house in Kapsabet, Nandi County, in an incident reported to police on Thursday.
The deceased, identified as Argwens Ogosi Jumba, was discovered unresponsive on his bed by his sister who had gone to serve him breakfast.
Police officers visited the scene after the report and found the body lying in a supine position. Preliminary observations indicated no visible signs of physical injury.
Family members told investigators that the deceased had been suffering from high blood pressure and was under medication. Assorted drugs were found on a table in the room.
The body was moved to White Crescent Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to determine the exact cause of death.
Police said investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
