Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has reassigned five County Chief Officers, with the changes taking immediate effect.

In a memo dated April 24, 2026, Sakaja said the changes were made in accordance with Section 45(5) of the County Governments Act, 2012, which empowers a governor to reassign chief officers within the county administration.

Under the reshuffle, Machel Waikenda moves from Mobility and ICT Infrastructure to Lands and Mobility, while Cecilia Koigu shifts from Lands to ICT Infrastructure.

Bob Ariemba has been reassigned to the Roads, Public Works and Infrastructure docket in an acting capacity, while Irene Muchoki moves from Medical Services to Gender and Inclusivity.

Mariam Dubow Dahir, who has been serving in Gender and Inclusivity, will now head Medical Services.

“The changes take effect immediately,” the memo reads.

The changes, authorised under Section 45(5) of the County Government Act 2012, were signed by Governor Sakaja.
