A middle-aged man died after reportedly falling from the roof of an apartment building in Wangige Kabete Sub-County, Kiambu County.

According to police, the incident was reported on April 21, 2026, at a residential apartment.

Police officers visited the scene and established that the deceased, identified as Paul Njenga, had earlier gone to the apartment to repair gutters.

During the process, Njenga reportedly fell from the roof and died on the spot. His body was found lying motionless on the ground with visible head injuries and blood oozing from the head.

The scene was processed by investigators, and the body was later moved to St Teresa Hospital Mortuary for preservation and further examination.

Authorities have launched investigations into the incident, which is currently being treated as a case of accidental death.

Elsewhere, police in Kirinyaga County are investigating a drowning incident after the body of a 38-year-old man was found in a water canal in Mwea West Sub-County.

According to police, the incident was reported on April 21, 2026, by members of the public who spotted a body floating in the canal.

The deceased was later identified as Joel Munene Kabiro. Police officers visited the scene and confirmed the incident.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased had last been seen in the area on the same day.

According to a relative, he had complained of seeing strange people who were allegedly threatening to arrest him.

Authorities believe the deceased may have accidentally slipped into the canal while attempting to jump across, possibly while experiencing hallucinations.

It was also established that the deceased had a history of a cerebral condition and had been treated and discharged from a Level 4 Hospital in February 2026.

The body, which had visible bruises on the left elbow and forehead, was moved to Kibugi Funeral Home for preservation and post-mortem examination.

Police say investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Elsewhere, a 20-year-old student from Trans Nzoia County died after sustaining a suspected stab wound under unclear circumstances in the Matisi area.

According to police, the incident occurred in the Lukhuna area, Matisi Location.

The deceased, a Form Three student at Transnzoia Secondary School, is said to have arrived home at about 11:00 p.m. with blood oozing from a neck injury that appeared to be a stab or piercing wound.

According to his father, the young man was unable to explain how he sustained the injury.

Family members rushed him to Cherangany Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body was later moved to Kijana Wamalwa Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination.

Police officers visited the facility and confirmed the report, launching investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal injury.
