According to police, the incident occurred on April 21 around 3:00 pm at a residential site adjacent to Kiboko Bay.

Police said the incident involved a suspected love triangle.

Preliminary investigations indicate the deceased is understood to have been involved in a confrontation with a fellow security guard, following a disagreement over a woman who had visited them at the site.

Egilaiza suffered deep cuts to the forehead and back, reportedly inflicted using a stone recovered at the scene, consistent with eyewitness accounts.

It is reported that after the incident, he managed to walk from the lakeshore, where the fight initially broke out, to a second location near the suspect’s residence, where he later collapsed and died as colleagues tried to assist him.

The suspect, who is also employed as a security guard, left the scene immediately after the incident.

Police have launched efforts to trace and locate him. He had not been caught by Thursday, police said.

The body was moved to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
