Top 10 countries with the most billionaire-producing universities

A new analysis highlights the global concentration of billionaire-producing universities, with the United States dominating the list by a wide margin.

According to data by Visual Capitalist, the US accounts for 39.48 per cent of such institutions, far ahead of any other country.

China ranks second with 11.95 per cent, while India follows at 6.08 per cent.

Germany and Russia each hold 4.25 per cent, with the United Kingdom at 3.85 per cent.

Canada and Italy both account for 2.23 per cent, while Australia and Brazil round out the top ten at 1.62 per cent each.

The data underscores how wealth-generating academic institutions are heavily concentrated in a few countries, particularly in the US and China, which together host over half of the world’s billionaire-producing universities.

The findings point to disparities in access to elite education and global economic opportunities, as well as the influence of top universities in shaping wealth creation and leadership on a global scale.
